Consider the following then respond by writing an essay of five (5) paragraphs:

The United States operates under a capitalist system and is considered to be populated by a consumer society (people who are obsessed with buying and owning things). The economy and politics are dependent on everybody to actively participate in their role as a "consumer".  Training for the role of consumer begins at an early age by the lessons that are taught both at school and on TV commercials, movies, and games.

For many people, ownership of things is the most important activity of their lives where everything else becomes secondary to that desire.

Why do you want to buy and own things?

Have you ever noticed that much of what you want to own is based on what other people own?

Has television, radio, movies, video games, music videos influenced you regarding what it is that you would like to own?

How much money wil you need to own everything that you would like to possess?

How much time do you spend on thinking about what you would like to own?

Could it be that you attend university so that you can eventually be in a position to buy many things in the future?

What kind of feelings do you experience when you shop?

Is it important for you to have fashionable clothes?

Is it important for you to own the newest electronic gear such as iPods, computers, video gaming equipment, mobile phones, and other items that make it easier to communicate or for instant entertainment?

When do you feeling like buying something?

How much of your lifetime will you be willing to spend on working so that you can afford to buy everything that you want to own?

When will you finally have everything that you'd like to own?

Do you feel that buying and owning things is very important?

What would you feel like if you could not buy everything that you want to own?

Would you consider yourself to be a follower when it comes to making purchases?  Do you buy what other people buy?  Do you watch the movies that other people watch?  Do you listen to the music that everyone else listens to?  Do you eat/drink the same foods that everyone else does?  Do you dedicate much time to thoughts and actions that will lead to to being able to buy things?

Have you ever heard the expression, "You can't take it with you"?

Have you ever heard the expression, "Winners have the best toys"?

What will you have to do to be a winner and to have/keep everything that you want to own?

(Your essay must contain a minimum of fifteen 15 vocabulary words!  Also, include your personal observations, analysis, and commentary related to this subject).
