Essay #2  must be typed, 12 point type, font (if you use PC: Times New Roman; if you use Apple: Helvetica), double-spaced, margins must be set at 1-inch (top, bottom, left, & right). Do not skip a line between paragraphs. Staple the cover page to the 2 1/2-page paper. Also, do not decorate your papers with any graphics.  Do not place in a folder of any kind.

Spelling and grammar are important!  

Use your class-suggested Dictionary. You may also utilize a standard Thesaurus and/or a Grammar book.

Use spell-check and grammar-check functions on your computer software writing program to assist you in the prevention and elimination of writing problems.

SAVE A COPY of your essay on disc and hard drive.

What are some important ideas related to why nuclear war should NOT take place?

What was the primary message found in the movie Dr. Strangelove?  Also, did you enjoy watching this movie?  Would your recommend this movie to your friends?

What are the effects of a nuclear explosion?

Why do some countries possess or want to possess nuclear weapons?

Be certain to include information related to the following: Plutonium, The Cold War, The Peace Movement, Fallout, Fission Reaction, Nuclear Winter, and other terms that were provided to you in class.

What should you do to support peace on earth?

Do you feel that nuclear weapons should be used to win a war?

What is your solution to the nuclear weapons problem?

(Your essay must contain a minimum of fifteen 15 vocabulary words!  Also, include your personal observations, analysis, and commentary related to this subject).
